San Diego airport relents, allows anti-SeaWorld ad

Visitors attend the animal theme park SeaWorld in San Diego, CaliforniaBy Marty Graham SAN DIEGO (Reuters) – San Diego International Airport has agreed to run an animal rights group's advertisement asking visitors to avoid SeaWorld, a major city tourist attraction that has faced criticism over shows featuring killer whales, a civil rights group said on Thursday. The airport, which had balked at displaying the ad, agreed to do so as part of a legal settlement after an animal rights group sued in March accusing the airport and the company that handles its advertising of infringing on its free speech rights. "There appears to have been viewpoint discrimination, and we are glad that issue was resolved," said Sean Riordan, senior staff attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union of San Diego and Imperial Counties, which helped represent People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals in the lawsuit. Officials at San Diego International Airport, without admitting wrongdoing in a legal settlement filed this month, agreed to allow the PETA advertising poster to go up this week in the airport's baggage claim area.

Hi SCARS, we just wanted to say thank you. Nine years ago we adopted a beautiful black lab cross named Luna from a SCARS adoption event. She was a truly beautiful, smart and gentle soul. Once our kids arrived she loved them like they were always with us. She sadly developed a lump (non cancerous) Second Chance Animal Rescue Society

In the nick of time, not a moment too soon……use any saying you like, I was in desperate need of help.  Left at a garbage dump, just a young pup, malnourished and weak. In my weakened state I was unable to fight off a massive infestation of the Demodex mite (like Mange, but not contagious).  Second Chance Animal Rescue Society
