Thank you to Windsor Plywood for helping our W4W Program

Thank you to Windsor Plywood for helping SCARS raise money for our Walls 4 Winter insulated pet shelters program. Between their five locations, they collected $3,243.23 with their fundraiser that concluded on June 30. The individual locations collected funds as follows: North East $789.50; West $889; North (St. Albert Trail) $748; Leduc $370; and Sherwood Park $446.73. Thank you to everyone who donated.

We are also very grateful to our W4W volunteer coordinators, Trish and Brenda, and all the volunteers who work so hard to keep this life saving program going.

Pilot (warning: graphic images)

** GRAPHIC IMAGES **Help!! This is what these photos scream. When our team received a call about a stray dog that smells bad they went out straight away!! You respond quickly to a call like this, as quickly as humanly possible. We don’t know what happened or where this poor soul came from. Bandit

I’m Bandit ! Mine is a hard story to tell. I am tired and ill and my prognosis is full of questions. My name is Bandit, I am definitely a senior. A SCARS volunteer heard about a dog wandering and was compelled to go see if she could help. She found me and knew I was in desperate need of help. I was immediately on my way for veterinary assessment and care. So often when there is an animal in distress, there is a human needing help as well, so we ask for your compassion for all involved with Bandit. We are just getting the first medical information, but the outlook is not great, I have multiple conditions and fighting multiple infections. I am now under the compassionate care of the veterinary team at Westlock Veterinary Center and SCARS will make the best decisions for me with their guidance. More updates when more is known.
